SCR GM supervises goods train derailment Hyderabad, Jan 6 (INN): South Central Railway General Manager Vashishta Johri, who rushed to Hyderabad from Chennai on receipt of information on the derailment of a coal laden Goods Train at Wihirgaon Station on Kazipet ' Balharshah section on Friday, reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
The General Manager is personally supervising the restoration work at the site, so as to complete the work on a war-footing and bring back normalcy of train services at the earliest, said a press release from SCR.
Prior to the General Manager's arrival at the spot, SCR Additional GM A.K.Gupta had also reached Wihirgaon to analyse the impact of the mishap and monitor the restoration work. Men and Machinery have been deployed to required extent immediately so as to take up the restoration work on a massive scale. 300 personnel are involved in the restoration work and are aided by the deployment of two Cranes of 140 Tonnes capacity, besides 7 JCBs which are clearing the heaps of coal which has fallen on the track.
The General Manager has also constituted a high level inquiry committee to look into the cause of the incident and submit a report. The committee comprises of Chief Safety Officer, Chief Rolling Stock Engineer, Chief Electric Locomotive Engineer, Chief Traffic Manager/General and Chief Track Engineer, South Central Railway.
