Safety top priority, reiterates SCR GM Tirupati, Jan 13 (INN): South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav visited Tirupati Railway Station on Friday on an inspection, his first tour after assuming charge as the head for the Zone. He was accompanied by Amitabh Ojha, Divisional Railway Manager and other Officials of Guntakal Division.
The General Manager undertook an extensive tour of Tirupati Railway Station, covering the entire station premises from the main (North side) till the South side entrance area. He checked the facilities available at the station including the platforms, lifts, apron, booking offices, food stalls, waiting areas, circulating area etc. He also inspected the train maintenance pit lines area abutting the platforms at the station to analyze the maintenance capacity for trains here in the yard. During the course of the inspection, Vinod Kumar Yadav sought details from the Divisional Railway Manager and other officials of the Division on the developmental plans of the station.
Addressing a press conference after the inspection, Vinod Kumar Yadav reiterated that Safety is accorded top most priority on SCR. Safety is foremost and there cannot be any limitation towards attaining it, he categorically stressed. Responding to a question, he stated that development is a continuous process and plans are in the pipe line for development of Tirupati Railway Station. He assured to look into aspects concerning passenger facilities and amenities which can further be improved at the Station. He added that the State Government will be involved in any rail developmental plans at Tirupati so as to ensure a well coordinated approach of action.
