Farm labourers plan 'Chalo EGS office' protest Hyderabad, Jan 25 (INN): Farm laborers in the state have decided to protest against the state government's decision to stall NREGS works in towns adjacent to the new district headquarters.
A call has been given for Chalo EGS (Employmet Guarantee Scheme) office on January 30 in this regard. Telangana State Farm Laborers Association state president B Prasad demanded the state government to give employment in urban areas too. He said that the new norms announced by the state government would deprive many laborers of their guaranteed jobs. Thousands of laborers would have to travel to the other places owing financial difficulties.
Prasad demanded the state government to issue new job cards without the compulsion of Aadhar Card and bank account besides releasing the pending remunerations at the earliest. He appealed the government to fill the vacancies of Field Assistants (FAs) with senior mates as per the act. He demanded that government must provide tent and other basic facilities during the work.
