Make IHS report public: VHR Hyderabad, Jan 29 (INN): Congress senior leader and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao on Saturday demanded that the Telangana Government place the report of Intensive Household Survey (IHS) in public domain.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises, VHR alleged that the IHS report was being kept a secret to suppress the facts pertaining to Backward Classes. Stating that BCs were in majority in Telangana State, he alleged that the TRS Government was hiding statistics related to their population and backwardness. He said that the government had spent crores of rupees and resources on the IHS. However, for unknown reasons it was keeping its findings a secret. He threatened to stage a dharna before Raj Bhavan if the government fails to make IHS report public within a month.
Welcoming the all-party meeting convened by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to discuss the issues of SCs and STs, the Congress leader asked as to why a meeting could not be convened on BCs issues. He said both State and Central Governments were neglecting the BCs.
