KTR vows to transform TRS into a cadre-based Party

Hyderabad, Dec 15 (INN): TRS Working President K. Tarakarama Rao said that he would transform the Telangana Rashtra Samithi into a cadre-based party right from booth-level to State-level.

Speaking at the Meet the Press at Somajiguda Press Club on Saturday, KTR said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao had assigned him the post of Working President to strengthen the TRS at grass root level. He said he would gear up the party for Panchayat and local bodies elections to be held early next year and also for Lok Sabha elections in April/May 2019. He said that there was enthusiasm among TRS cadre after the party won 88 out of 119 Assembly segments. He said he would maintain the same level of enthusiasm in future. He said that the TRS retained power in Telangana due to support of minorities and therefore, they would be given prominence in all the committees.

KTR said his first target is to win 16 out of 17 Lok Sabha seats while one seat of Hyderabad would be left for MIM. He said KCR would play a major role in national politics with the proposed Federal Front. He said there was huge vacuum in national politics which TRS and other regional parties would fill. Going by the present trend, he said the ruling BJP would not get more than 150 Parliamentary seats while Congress would be confined to not more than 90 seats. The remaining 320 seats would be captured by the regional parties to form the next government at the Center. He said TRS would try to bring parties like Trinamul Congress of Mamta Banerjee, Biju Janata Dal of Biju Patnaik and others on one platform. In Andhra Pradesh too, there are regional parties like YSRCP and Jana Sena and therefore, TRS need not have any understanding with ruling TDP headed by N.Chandrababu Naidu. He asid flagship schemes like Rythu Bandu, free power to farmers, insurance scheme for farmers, drinking water to each and every household would be implemented at the national level.

The TRS leader said that Chandrababu Naidu lack clarity on Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. At the time when Naidu was with BJP, he did not speak about the Special Status and after aligning with the Congress, the TDP chief is insisting on the issue. He asked Naidu to clarify his stand on SCS to AP.

KTR also dismissed the allegations of EVM manipulation in recently held Assembly elections in Telangana. He said of nearly 2 crore voters, nearly 95 lakh have voted for TRS while only 42 lakh voted for Congress. However, the leaders of Mahakutami were creating confusion among people by levelling baseless allegations. He said BJP had lost deposit in 103 seats. He asked Congress leaders to change their mindset.

The TRS Working President assured that all the promises made by the TRS party in its manifesto would be implemented in toto. He said the State economy was on a high since the formation of Telangana State. Telangana's revenue growth was 17.7% and in the last quarter the revenue growth has gone up to 29.4%. This is good sign that the State can take many more welfare schemes. Presently, he said the Telangana Government was spending 43% of the budget on welfare.
