Ponguleti visits Pethai cycline Affected Areas Hyderabad, Dec 19 (INN): Deputy CLP leader Dr Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, along with a team of Congress leaders, today visited Pethai cyclone affected areas where crops were damaged in Manchukonda village of Raghunadhapalem mandal of Khammam district and Tanikella of Wyra constituency and interacted with farmers who suffered damages.
Speaking to media persons later, Sudhakar Reddy said that Chilli, Cotton and Paddy crops suffered heavy damage due to cyclonic rains. He demanded that the State and Central Government come to the rescue of farmers and purchase damaged Paddy on MSP. He said the farmers must be paid insurance amount for the damaged crops. He said immediate assessment of the damage should be done in all affected districts of Telangana. Meanwhile, farmers have complained that the authorities have not visited interior areas for assessment of the damage.
TPCC Secretary Katla Ranga Rao, TPYC General Secretary R. Manohar Naidu, PCC Minorities Convener Md Fazal and other leaders were also present.
