AP to become Horticulture Hub Vijayawada, January 5, 2019: Andhra Pradesh State govt aims to expand the coverage under horticulture from 16.02 Lakh Hectares to 40 Lakh Hectares in order to transform the State into the Horticulture Hub of India, said Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu on Saturday.
He also said that despite bearing the brunt of unscientific State-division, the budget allocated to AP's Agriculture sector saw a threefold increase from Rs. 6,127 pre-bifurcation to Rs. 19,070 post-bifurcation.
AP Integrated Irrigation and Agriculture Transformation Project funded by World Bank is benefitting 2 Lakh families covering 1.47 Lac Hectares of agricultural land. AP Irrigation and Livelihood Improvement Project has allocated Rs. 15.20 Cr to the Agriculture sector, Chandra Babu Naidu said at the Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru program at Pogiri, Srikakulam District.
