The HMRL MD described it as a 'Transformational Leap' in security training, and added, this is first of its kind in our country to conduct on the job training for security personnel onsite through a mobile van.

Launching the facility, the HMRL MD directed Dy. Commissioner of Police, HMRL A. The hard-disk is GPRS enabled through latest technology, so that we can track location, running time of each subject, NVS Reddy added.

He also appreciated the good work being done by the police personnel and the private security guards working at Metro stations. He specifically mentioned about detecting and catching some passengers carrying camouflaged knives in leather pouches, highly inflammable liquids, banned drugs etc through careful frisking & proper usage of metal detectors, DFMD scrutiny, etc., at different stations. He advised DCP, HMRL to periodically give publicity to the detected dangerous instruments so that the passengers understand the importance of security checks. But at the same time, security personnel shall be courteous to passengers & reflect friendly policing practices at Metro stations, he counselled.

HMRL DCP A. Balakrishna said about 900 security personnel are working in Hyderabad Metro Rail stations in three shifts and a reputed private security agency is providing the security personnel and that the security being provided at the metro installations is of high standard.
