Major Fire at Hyderabad Exhibition Hyderabad, Jan 30: Huge fire broke out and almost 75 percent of the Hyderabad Exhibition Numaish stalls were burned into ashes Wednesday evening. Fire broke out at around 8.25 pm and it seems that the cause of the fire was burst of a cylinder at a cotton candy stall.
Disaster unit and dozens firefighters, police and exhibition officials were helping out the public to go out of the exhibition area.


Numaish also known as Exhibition is historical in Hyderabad. Lakhs of visitors visit every year. Right now almost 300 stalls are there and was started in 1938 by a group of graduates of Osmania University to showcase local products. It was the reign of the Last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan.
From a mere 100 stalls in 1938 started at the Public Gardens, the venue has shifted to the Exhibition Grounds, near Nampally Railway Station. The original name was changed to All India Industrial Exhibition, and was renamed to its original name, the Numaish in 2009.
This is the first time such a huge fire broke out at Numaish.
