Jagan promises BC Commission, Quota

Eluru (West Godavari dist), Feb 17: Amidst thunderous applause from the mammoth gathering, YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced the BC Declaration which promises setting up of BC Commission, allocation of funds, sub-plan, providing 50 % quota in nominated posts, Corporations to all castes and other sops, all of them backed with a impeccable legislation and sought the blessings of the people and rejection of the ruling dispensation.

'When our government comes to power with your blessings, we will set up a BC Commission and spend Rs 75,000 crores for five years for BC Welfare besides providing 50 % reservations in all nominated posts and contract works besides setting up of Study Committee for further classifications of the BCs as they are the Backbone of the Society who were kept away from the development process by the Chandrababu Naidu government all during the 4.9 years.

Chandrababu Naidu, who has been a copycat has been telling what all Jagan tells without knowing that people are not in a position to believe him as he comes only before the elections and doles out promise after promise only to break them as he had done during the 2014. He had given 119 assurances in his manifesto but did not fulfil even one. Such people should be rejected.

We have seen Chadnrababu Naidu threatening BCs who have asked why he had gone back on his election promises as he follows the principle of use-and-throw. I have the feedback of the study committee report and the experience of interacting with all sections during my Padayatra which is the basis of the BC Declaration, he said.

When we come to power, we will include the BCs in the development process by setting up over 139 Corporations to finance them. What all assurances we give, from sub-plan to quota in nominated posts to allocation of funds and categorisation, we will do it on the basis of legislations unlike Chandrababu Naidu who speaks through his hat.

Women in the age group of 45-60 will be given Rs 75,000 as YSR Cheyutha in four instalments, and fees reimbursement, Amma Vodi, decentralisation of administration through Village Secretariat and Village Volunteers who will ensure that all welfare schemes come to the doorsteps, he said.

Some of the castes that did not find a place in the BC list of the Centre would be recommended through a resolution for inclusion in the Centre's list, something which the TDP government did not do while its term is coming to an end.

Small and petty traders will get ID Cards which enable them to get Rs 10,000 interest free loans, while Nayee Brahmins and fishermen will get the allowances. All these are over and above what has been mentioned in the Navaratnas, he said.

YSR Bhima of Rs 7 lakh in case of loos of life will be given and we firmly believe that Backward Castes are the backbone of the society and our Party stands behind them unlike TDP, he said.
