Is Kiran parting ways with Congress? Hyderabad: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's statement that he would make allout efforts to stall the cyclone called bifurcation during his visit to Srikakulam district has revived speculations that he would soon launch a new political party.
A close aide of Kiran Kumar Reddy, Minister Sake Sailajanath also criticised the AICC top brass for taking unilateral decision. Another Minister Pithani Satyanarayana, who is also said to be close to Kiran, supported the comments made by Kiran in Srikakulam district.
Congress circles see these developments as a pointer towards Kiran donning the role of Samaikyandhra crusader. For the first time, party leaders say Kiran sought the support of the people of the region in his efforts to stop this 'Cyclone.'
It may be mentioned here that so far Kiran has only been questioning the party decision during press conferences and TV interviews. For the first time he has expanded his area of operation to public domain by openly seeking support of the people of Seemandhra region. He also exuded confidence that Seemandhra MLAs cutting across party lines would defeat the resolution when it comes before the Assembly.
However T leaders like Palvai Govardhan Reddy and Ponnam Prabhakar felt that the high command should sack him for his open defiance of high commands decision and should be arrested under PD act for acting in a partisan manner.
