Gade flays Sonia for splitting AP Bapatla: Seemandhra senior Congress leader Gade Venkat Reddy said the Seemandhra people would consider AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as wicked persons if they divided the State undemocratically by not following the terms and conditions of the Constitution.
Speaking to the media here, Gade said that no Prime Minister had agreed till date for the division of the State. He alleged that history will not forgive Sonia and Manmohan Singh if they acted against the wishes of former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, who didn't accept the division of the State. He said that the future generations will consider both Sonia and Manmohan as villains if they divided Telugu people into two.
He made it clear that amendment of Article 371(D) is must if the Centre wanted to divide the State. He also said that without amendment, there was no chance to change the Article 371(D), which was in the Seventh Schedule.
He also said that tradition was that no new State was created without the concerned State Assembly resolution in the nation. He said that the Seemandhra Congress leaders would lodge their serious protest if the Centre tried to take up the process of division of the state unilaterally without following the constitutional terms and conditions. He made it clear that they would obstruct the process of division by all means.
