Underground tunnel found at Alwal HYDERABAD: A construction site in Alwal here on Tuesday evening drew attention of many curious onlookers and passersby after a tunnel was spotted beneath the soil.
Soon rumours of hidden treasure started spreading citing the abetment of the site to 100-year old Sri Balaji Venkateswara Swamy temple. However, till late evening, neither police officials nor officials from the state department of Archaeology paid a visit to the site.
The 600-yard plot belongs to one Yadavaiah, who used to let his cattle graze at the site before he handed over the place to a builder. After digging about 10-12 feet workers spotted a stone structure on Tuesday evening.
Though the tunnel was inaccessible, many locals turned up at the site to catch a glimpse of the said treasure. However, no treasure was found.
