Weatherman warns of more rain pain for Hyderabad HYDERABAD: The city witnessed yet another set of traffic jams at various places due to continuous rainfalls which began on Tuesday night.
Traffic snarls were reported from several places as water entered various locations, slowing down vehicle movement in the city. The situation is likely to continue as the met department officials predict the rainfall to continue for the next 24 hours.
Officials of the Greater Hyderabad Muncipal Corporation (GHMC) emergency squad said that water logging complaints were received from over 12 areas in the city--Model House at Panjagutta, CM Camp office at Begumpet, Ranigunj junction, Chikalguda X roads, Asif Nagar, Mallepally, Lakdikapul near Mehdi function hall, Khairatabad (near Shadan college), Basheerbagh, Puranapul and New Bhoiguda.
Met department officials also stated that the city may witness thundershowers on Thursday. Till Tuesday evening, the city recorded 12.8 mm rainfall.
'While the showers are not strong, they are continuous and are likely to continue. The situation will be similar across the entire state, 'an official of the met department said.
He also added that the weather is likely to be cloudy for the next few days. Temperature in the city however remained relatively cool at a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 21.9 degrees Celsius.
GHMC officials however said that apart from water stagnation complaints, no other calls were made from homes pertaining to water flooding.
