KCR mark governance is yet to begin: CM

HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said 'KCR-mark and TRS-mark' governance is yet to commence in the state. 'We are just 100 days old. This is not cinema or sensex to judge in a short time. KCR-mark governance will commence soon,' Chandrasekhar Rao told a media conference here on Tuesday.

Reacting to the TRS candidate's victory in Medak Lok Sabha bypoll, which was earlier vacated by himself, KCR said the outcome was a fitting lesson to the Opposition which tried to make every decision of the government look a controversy.

The outcome also proved that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has no place in Telangana and it was routed in the new state.

Asked whether the victory of TRS in Medak was an endorsement of TRS government by the people, Chandrasekhar Rao said one cannot judge the performance of any government in just 100 days. 'We retained the seat only because of the hard work by workers and incharge minister T Harish Rao,' the chief minister said.

The opposition which launched a malicious campaign on TRS government's decisions like engineering colleges, weeding out of ration cards and reorganisation of districts was now at the receiving end. 'The people endorsed all the decisions of the government by supporting TRS in Medak byelection,' Rao said.

Major Decisions Soon: The chief minister said major decisions would be announced between Dasara and Diwali festivals. The government would also launch new pensions, housing and other schemes on Dasara. 'People can expect some more key decisions between Dasara and Diwali,' Rao said.

He said the government had also decided to increase the subsidised rice quota up to 30 kg per family. 'We will fulfil all the assurances given to the people. TRS government is not a routine government.

For that matter, Telangana is not a routine state. It is a newly created state. We are going very cautiously in taking decisions. Any decision taken now will influence the generations to come in the state.

So, we are laying a good foundation,' Rao said. On the power situation, Rao said the state would overcome the present crisis and be able to supply round the clock power to domestic consumers after three years.

TRS Plenary: Rao said the plenary of TRS would be conducted in a grand manner. For this, Assembly segment-wise meetings would be conducted soon. Around 200 to 250 delegates from each Assembly segment would attend the preparatory meeting. TRS was not an ordinary party; it fought for separate state for 14 years and came to power, he said.

Panel Formed on Women's Safety

The Telangana government has constituted a committee to deliberate on various issues relating to safety and security of girls and women in the State. The committee will have an interaction with women journalists at 3 pm at D Block in the Secretariat on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Telangana government has plans to partner with the fourth estate, including print and electronic media, to spread awareness on the effective implementation of legislations and regulations available for redressal of heinous crimes against teenage girls and women, according to a release.
