HMDA chief shunted out over industry ire HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) commissioner Neerabh Kumar Prasad faced the wrath of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who had him transferred without a posting.
According to sources, the CM took the decision during a function in Mahbubnagar district where industry representatives lodged complaints against Prasad for his laid back attitude in granting permissions for various projects.
K Pradeep Chandra, special chief secretary and commissioner in the department of industrial promotion, industries and commerce, was given full additional charge of the post of HMDA commissioner until further orders.
It was during the events at Mahbubnagar that CM was apprised as to how the HMDA commissioner was allegedly delaying several projects and harassing industrialists. The 50-year-old HMDA commissioner is a 1987 batch AP cadre officer. A mechanical engineer by education, Prasad is a domicile of Bihar. In 2012 April, then State government had appointed him as HMDA commissioner.
