No takers for MBA, MCA seats in AP, TS HYDERABAD: The counselling conducted for students qualified in the Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) for admission to MBA and MCA courses in Telangana and AP looks like a re-run of the Eamcet counselling held for engineering admissions.
Reflecting the diminishing interest of students in taking up these courses in mushrooming private colleges, over 30,000 seats have found no takers. The total number of seats available in the two states is 1,19,779.
At the end of certificate verification and exercising of options on Friday, 13,711 seats remained vacant in AP and 17,715 in Telangana. According to a press release from ICET camp officer Raghunath, 29,810 candidates in AP and 27,081 in Telangana got their allotments on Friday.
The Supreme Court's refusal to allow second phase of Eamcet counselling may have its bearing on the second round of ICET counselling.
