Kakinada will be turned into a tourism hub KAKINADA: A 'Tourism Walk' was organised in the city in connection with the 'World Tourism Day' here Saturday. Kakinada Urban MLA flagged off the walk. Collector Neetu Prasad, AP State Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) divisional manager G Rama Krishna, Information Department deputy director M Francis and others participated in the walk.
Later, addressing the gathering, MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao said that the port city would be developed as a tourism hub. The government is very particular about development of tourism mainly river-based tourism, spiritual tourism, eco tourism, etc., in the district.
Collector Neetu Prasad said many projects were taken up under river and temple tourism in the district. The tourism sector in Konaseema would be developed on par with Kerala.APTDC divisional manager G Rama Krishna, district educational officer KSV Reddy, Arachaeology Department assistant director SV Rao and others were present.
