Adequate compensation for land owners to build new capital Vijayawada, Sept 28 (INN): Information Technology Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said that the Andhra Pradesh Government would pay adequate compensation to the farmers and other individuals for the lands which are proposed to be acquired to establish the new capital in Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri (VGTM) region.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, Palle said that the government would pay appropriate compensation to the farmers who lands are proposed to be acquired under land pooling model.
He said that the government proposes to acquire as much land as possible before building the new capital. He said that the new capital would have all the facilities and would be convenient for all residents of Andhra Pradesh.
He informed that the government was planning to constitute a Capital Development Authority in a month to acquire the land.
According to sources, the AP Government is planning to acquire one lakh acres of land for the construction of new capital. However, around 25,000 acres of land would be acquired in the first phase.
