Tirumala temple to be closed on Oct 8
TIRUPATI: Owing to Lunar Eclipse which falls on October 8, the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala will be closed for nearly ten hours from 10 am to 8 pm, said Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju.
Speaking to newsmen in Tirumala Sunday evening, the JEO said that the pilgrim rush has increased manifold due to a series of holidays apart from Dasara and weekends.
'Especially, pilgrims from Tamil Nadu are flooding Tirumala with the commencement of the auspicious Purattasi Shanivaram. As a result, all the queue lines are brimming with pilgrims and the serpentine queue lines have extended up to kilometres in Tirumala. Keeping in view of the pilgrim influx, we have cancelled VIP break even on Monday i.e. on October 6,' JEO said.
