Narayana against forceful acquisition of land for capital VIJAYAWADA: CPI national executive member K Narayana has questioned the TDP government as to why it needs lakhs of acres of land for constructing capital city and opined that farmers should not be forced to give their lands for capital.
Speaking at the inaugural of a free homoeopathy medical camp organised by the local CPI unit at Singhnagar here Sunday, Narayana criticised the government for not extending enough support to the government hospitals as it does in case of corporate hospitals.
Instead of developing government hospitals and making healthcare affordable, the government was supporting establishment of corporate and private hospitals, which had been fleecing the public over the years, he alleged.
Though crores of funds were being spent towards public health and medical facilities, most of the hospitals lack basic facilities like sufficient number of doctors, equipments and medicines, he pointed out.
Earlier, he called up on voluntary organisations and political parties to organise more such medical camps in the city for the benefit of the people. CPI city secretary Donepudi Shankar was present.
