Prof kill sons to take revenge on wife HYDERABAD: The suicide saga of R Guru Prasad, an assistant professor at the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI), took an even more horrific turn Monday with the police discovering the dead bodies of his two children ' Vittal Viranchi (9) and Nanda Vihari (5) ' in a pit at his plot in Medchal.
The police are certain that Prasad murdered his sons in cold blood before putting his own head under a running train, just out of spite and to hurt his estranged wife Sushila. Prasad, who had been reluctant to divorce his wife, took his children out on Saturday ' as per court directions, he could take them out only once a month.
As he didn't bring them back, Sushila had lodged a missing complaint with the Malkajgiri police, who tracked signals of Prasad's mobile and zeroed in on his 100 sq yard plot at Kalpataru residency in Medchal. To their horror, they found the bodies buried in a five-ft deep pit. The boys were apparently stabbed in the neck.
'We found some injuries on their neck and a knife in the pit. We suspect Prasad came to Medchal directly after picking up the boys from their mother at Malkajgiri. Prasad might have killed and buried them. It was a pre-planned murder executed by Prasad as he bore a grudge against his wife,' said Malkajgiri inspector G Sekhar Goud. Sushila's relatives, who were called to the spot, identified the bodies of the children.
After reaching Medchal, Prasad had made a call and sent a text message to his wife. But it appears the message didn't get through to his wife as Prasad had switched off the phone immediately. The chilling message read: 'U can find children in Medchal.'
According to the police, Prasad hired two persons on Friday to dig the grave but told them he was going to lay foundation for the construction of a house.
After killing the children on Saturday, Prasad went to his wife's house at Anandbagh in Malkajgiri police limits and had heated arguments with her. Later the same night, he put his head under a train at the Secunderabad railway station. The railway police found his mobile beside his body, which proved critical in solving the case.
'As his wife is an employee of an IT firm, Prasad met the company management and requested them to talk to her. However, she refused to meet him,' the police said. Married in 2004, the couple had been having disputes and Sushila approached a court for divorce. However, Prasad was unwilling to divorce her.
