TS TDP leaders to undertake bus yatra on Oct 10

HYDERABAD: With its leaders belonging to Telangana on the spree of jumping on to the TRS bandwagon, a visibly worried TDP leadership appears to have begun making all possible attempts to instil confidence among its leaders to arrest the ongoing exodus to the pink party.

In its latest effort to revive the party in the new state, the TDP leadership has asked its Telangana leaders to undertake a bus yatra from October 10 across the state to expose the 'failures of the TRS government and non-fulfilment of poll promises made by the party.''

A day after Telangana chief minister and TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao's potshots at him over the issue of power crisis in the state, Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu went into a huddle with his party leaders from Telangana.

According to sources, during the meeting, Naidu asked his colleagues to start attacking the failures of the TRS government. To implement this, he reportedly asked them to undertake a bus yatra across the state to underline the unfulfilled promises of the TRS government.

As per Naidu's directive, the Telangana TDP leaders are planning to embark on their bus yatra from October 10 from Nalgonda. During the first phase of their tour, the leaders would cover Warangal district on Oct 11 and proceed to Adilabad the next day.

Earlier, during the brainstorming with their boss, the senior leaders discussed the ways to strengthen the party in the new state. The party which has already lost few MLAs, MLCs and senior party leaders to the pink party was worried about its party base becoming weak in Telangana.

With reports doing rounds that some more MLAs are likely to join the pink party before the ensuing polls to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the party leadership has swung into action and is trying to convince the party MLAs not to leave the party.

Interestingly, senior party leader and former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, whose name was on the top of the list of leaders joining TRS, attended the Monday meeting called by Naidu.

Talasani, who gave a miss to several Telangana TDP meetings in the past, on Monday surprised the party leadership by turning up at the meeting. In fact, Talasani had met Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in his camp office recently and there were reports that the Sanathnagar MLA along with other TDP MLAs such as G Sayanna and T Krishna Reddy were leaning towards the TRS.

Another senior leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao, whose closed door mid-night meeting with KCR created ripples in the party, also attended the meeting with Naidu.

The attack on KCR for targeting Naidu by Errabelli on Monday is seen as an indication that the Warangal TDP's strongman has dropped the idea of joining the pink party for the time being.

Errabelli Drops Plans to Join TRS

Telangana TDP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao, who had earlier openly criticised his colleague A Revanth Reddy on the issue of Metro Rail project, has now joined hands with him to revive the party in Telangana.

Speaking to reporters, along with Revanth Reddy, a vocal critic of KCR, Errabelli said, ''KCR is trying to distract the people's attention from his failures by blaming Chancrababu Naidu. KCR has promised to give 8-hour uninterrupted power supply to agriculture. But, his government is not even able to supply three hours power. He did nothing in his three months rule except self-boasting.'
