YSRC to field Bhuma's daughter Akhila in Allagadda HYDERABAD: The YSR Congress has decided to field Bhuma Akhila Priya, daughter of Bhuma Nagi Reddy and the late Shobha Nagi Reddy in the Assembly by-election from Allagadda in Kurnool district on November 8. Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy declared her candidature after Nagi Reddy, along with his daughter, met him here on Thursday.
The by-election was necessitated by the death of Bhuma Shobha Nagi Reddy in a road accident even before the result of her election was declared. She won the election with a good majority.
Jagan has formed a two-member committee to ensure that the by-election be unanimous. The committee, comprising Dharmana Prasada Rao and MV Mysoora Reddy, is trying to convince the TDP and other parties to make it unanimous.
Since YSRCP did not field a candidate in the recent Nandigama by-election at the request of TDP leader Mandali Buddha Prasad, it is seeking reciprocal gesture from the ruling party now.
