Metropolis delegates visits Metro Rail Depot at Uppal Hyderabad, Oct 10 (INN): Delegates of the World Metropolis Congress today visited the Hyderabad Metro Depot at Uppal and the Metro Station at Nagole. The visit of the delegates was part of the XI Metropolis Congress which concluded at the HICC here on Friday.
The delegates expressed their keen interest in the salient features of the Hyderabad Metro Rail both at the Nagole station as well as the Uppal Depot. They appreciated the unique features of the Hyderabad Metro Rail and said it is one of the best models of public transport in the world.
Mallikarjun, SE and GM, HMR, Munna Kumar, Chief Engineer, HMR, M.P.Naidu, Project Director, LTMRHL and Shivaji, Division Head of LTMRHL explained the various features at the Nagole station including the Automatic Fare Collection, various other facilities at the two-tier station, automatic signalling system etc. They answered various queries by them.
The delegates were received at the Uppal Depot by Piyush Bhargava, Depot Manager, Uppal. JL Aurora, GM, LTMRHL and other officials took the delegates inside the Metro Train and explained various facilities in the Air-conditioned coaches. Delegates said Hyderabad Metro would set a model for other such Metros all over the world.
