India Post to sell TTD tickets from November Hyderabad, Oct 11 (INN): The Indian Postal Service is planning to introduce several new initiatives in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the month of November this year.
Addressing a press conference in connection with National Postal Week celebrations, Chief Postmaster General of AP BV Sudhakar told media persons on Saturday that the new schemes include sale of non-judicial stamps in Telangana.
Further, web casting technique for advertising is also proposed to be launched. He informed that the Indian Postal Service would sell TTD tickets from November and a MoU is likely to be signed soon with the TTD Board in this regard.
He said the department was also introducing schemes related to e-commerce. A unique scheme of printing and delivering bulk prints is also on pipeline wherein people can submit soft copies of the documents and the postal department would take print outs at the destination point and deliver the same to the recipient.
Sudhakar informed that Andhra Pradesh has been in the forefront in providing citizen centric services. In July 2013, a scheme called Sunayasam was introduced which facilitates citizens to pay utility bills in 95 Head Post Offices. There are 23 such utility bills that are accepted. Further, Mee Seva Services are also being introduced. Under this scheme, 348 services are provided.
The Chief Postmaster General said that under Asheervachanam scheme, devotees could send donations to Tirupati/ Ajmer/ Jesus Calls through any Post Office. In return, the devotees get Prasadam/ literature from the respective temple/ Dargah/ Church.
An amount of Rs 14.5 crore has been paid to TTD since December 2009 towards 12.13 lakh Money Orders were booked by devotees.
