Telangana wants Centre to act on four key projects HYDERABAD : Union cabinet additional secretary Anil Swarup met chief secretary Rajeev Sharma here to discuss the projects that were promised to Telangana by the Union government in the AP Reorganisation Act-2014.
According to sources in the government, the interaction primarily centred around four key projects: wagon manufacturing unit, 400 MW NTPC power project and tribal and horticulture universities. Besides, they also reviewed the ongoing Metro Rail works in the city.
It is learnt that the Central government official inquired about the identification of places for setting up each of these projects and also about acquiring land for the purpose. The State government has already announced that tribal university would be established in Adilabad district in memory of tribal leader Komaram Bheem.
The wagon project would come up in Kazipet (Warangal) and 400 MW NTPC power project at Ramagundam.
However, the government is yet to zero in on a place to establish the horticulture university. Word has it that the government has made up its mind to establish it in Gajwel constituency (Medak), represented by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
