Jilted lover pushes girl from building terrace Hyderabad, October 14: A day after a dejected lover assaulted his former girlfriend with a sickle at an engineering college in the city, another youth tried to kill his girlfriend after learning about her closeness to a youngster.
Roopa (21) suffered severe injuries after her boyfriend Md Sajid (27) pushed her off the third floor terrace of a building in Chilkalguda on Tuesday evening.
The victim was celebrating her birthday on Tuesday. 'Sajid brought a birthday cake for Roopa. Family members were also around. There was some heated argument. He took her to the terrace and pushed her down from there,' said Anjaneyulu, investigating officer.
Sajid suspected that she was going around with someone else, police said. She fell on the asbestos sheets atop an adjacent house and survived though she suffered injuries.
The girl was rushed to a private hospital. Sajid, a carpenter from Qutbullapur, was known to have been in the relationship with the victim for seven years. Sajid was arrested and an attempt to murder case was filed against him.
