Rahul Gandhi to visit Vizag on Oct 19 Visakhapatnam, October 16: All India Congress Committee vice-president Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit the Hudhud cyclone affected areas in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts on October 19 and 20.
He is likely to visit areas in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts that bore the brunt of Hudhud and interact with affected families.
Gandhi is likely to fly from New Delhi to Visakhapatnam on October 19 and would be extensively touring the cyclone affected areas in the three districts during his two-day visit. He is likely to stay in Visakhapatnam.
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy, who is presently in Visakhapatnam district, participated in Shramadaan activities organised by the party.
Speaking to media persons, he said that Rahul Gandhi expressed serious concern over the damage suffered in the three districts and had decided to interact with the affected families during his visit.
Reddy and other senior leaders from the party are heading to Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts to get first hand information about the damages and participate in relief and rehabilitation works.
