Ratan Tata pledges support to AP Govt Hyderabad, Oct 17 (INN): Tata Trusts chairman Ratan Tata has offered to extend support for the relief and rebuilding work of the areas affected by cyclone Hudhud.
"Sri Tata has given his commitment that Tata Trusts will donate Rs. 3 crore to AP CM Relief Fund. We are humbled by his generosity as he has promised to send a team from Tata Trusts to visit the affected areas and take up re-development work that would help the affected communities return to normalcy," Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said.
"It is heartening to see Sri Ratan Tata's concern. On behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh and as the CM of this troubled state, I salute Sri Tata for his leadership, compassion and the intent to serve our country. I have been troubled by the disaster that has befallen our state. But, with contributions and generosity of people like Mr. Ratan Tata, I'm hopeful that we will be able to overcome this enormous loss and be better equipped to deal with any calamity," he added.
Naidu hoped that other individuals, institutions, corporates and industry bodies too extend a helping hand in re-developing areas affected by the cyclone.
