KCR urges Tata to invest in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who intends to transfrom Hyderbad into a world-class smart city, requested Tata Group of Companies to invest Rs 30,000- 40,000 crore in the city.
Interacting with a delegation of Tata Group led by Tata Power CEO and managing director Anil Sardana, who called upon him at his office, KCR emphasised the need for companies like Tata to take the lead to invest and develop the city as a world-class one in all aspects.
He told them that Hyderabad had already been made ITIR Project Area and is home for many software firms.
Assuring their group's full cooperation, Anil Sardana proposed to strengthen the power sector in Telangana and offered to establish up to 1000 MW of thermal power project in the new state, which would be able to produce power in the next two years.
Anil Sardana explained that the scope of the project would be development of new power plants with domestic or imported fuel on tolling basis, design, building finance, own, operate and maintain the project.
The delegation also came forward to add solar power capacity and decentralise distribution generation solutions using solar power for rural areas, roof top solar, energy plantation on waste lands for bio mass power.
They said Tata power can act as a catalyst to bring in the amenities for a world class smart cities with state-of-art facility ad services of power infrastructure and bring in synergistic offerings through itself or leveraging group strength and partners.
