Tribals kill three Maoists in Visakha agency Visakhapatnam, Oct 20 (INN): Tribals from Chintapalli mandal killed three Maoists in retaliation to the death of a person near Balpam village on Sunday.
CPI (Maoist) of Korukonda Area Committee led by Sindri Chinna Ranga Rao alias Sharath, Anand, Korra Nageshwara Rao, Militia of Gillebanda (village), Palas Ganapathi, Militia of Sabbapalli village along with two other Militia members abducted Jagganna Dora Simhachalam and Gemmili Sanjeeva Rao in Erradibbalu village when the duo was on their way to Boddala Veedhi, G.Madugula Mandal.
Simhachalam is a local spiritual leader and native of Boddala Veedhi while Sanjeeva Rao a Kondu tribal from Veeravaram, is his follower.
Gemmili Sanjeeva Rao was fired with AK47 by Anand DCM near Balpam village. As the news of Sanjeeva Rao's killing spread, 200-300 villagers gathered from nearby villages and obstructed Maoists, asking them to free Simhachalam and Sanjeeva Rao. Maoists then warned people to leave the area and asked to allow them to head to Korukonda village for holding Praja Court to execute Simhachalam.
This was when the mob became uncontrollable and surrounded the Maoists. Maoists, in turn, aimed their guns at villagers and warned them to disperse from the place. Fearing more number of killings by Maoists, villagers pounced upon Maoists, snatched and damaged their weapons and, stoned them to death.
In the incident, Maoists who died were Sindri Chinna Ranga Rao alias Sarath, DCM of Korukonda Area Committee, Korra Nageshwara Rao of Gillebanda Village and Palas Ganapathi of Sabbapalli Village, hardcore Militia of Galikonda Area Committee.However, Anand DCM and two other Militia cadres managed to escape.
Police secured the bodies of DCM Sarath and Gemmili Sanjeeva Rao. The body of Palas Ganapathi of Sabbapalli village was taken away by family members and the body of Korra Nageswara Rao of Gillelabanda village was washed away in the nearby stream. Police are yet to secure the remaining two bodies.
The AK47 rifle of Sarath, DCM, which was snatched by angry tribals, was badly damaged.
