Japan keen on developing projects in AP
Hyderabad, Oct 22 (INN): A Japanese delegation met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu prior to his visit to Japan in November. The exploratory meeting between the government of Andhra Pradesh and the delegation was to understand the policies of the state government.
The delegation consisted of all important economic organizations such as Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), New Energy and Industrial Technology Development (NEDO), Japan Embassy and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The delegation informed the Chief Minister that they will be meeting officials of 100 companies in New Delhi next month and want a representation from Andhra Pradesh as a prelude to CM's visit.
The Japanese delegation evinced interest in transfer of high-technology in agriculture and food processing sectors, cold chains and food parks. They were also keen on an industrial park which will have a dedicated utility centre (DUC) project in AP.
The delegation discussed their interest in Delhi-Mumbai dedicated freight corridor and Bangalore-Chennai Industrial Corridor.
The delegation also expressed interest in building a smart capital city in Vijayawada-Guntur region. That apart, they are also keen on power projects including 4,000 MW thermal power in Visakhapatnam, 4,000 thermal power in Srikakulam and 2,000 MW solar power in Anantapur.
A joint working group has been constituted in this regard which will include heads from industry department, infrastructure department, energy department, IT and agriculture department and, Member of Parliament Y. Satyanarayana Chowdary and AP's special representative in Delhi K. Rammohan Rao.
Consul General of Japan in Chennai Sugiyama, Oya of JBIC, Ishamata and Fukamiya from the Ebassy of Japan, Ichiguchi of JICA, Abe of JETRO, Tanka and Sidolgui of NEDO were present at the meeting.
