Ponnala asks cadre to expose TRS Govt failures Hyderabad, Oct 22 (INN): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Wednesday asked the party cadre to work hard to expose the failures of TRS Government in the State.
Speaking after launching the membership drive of Youth Congress, Ponnala accused the TRS Government of playing with the lives of students and youth. He said that the non-clearance of fee reimbursement has put the careers of lakhs of students at stake.
Similarly, the government has ignored the welfare of students, who played a key role in formation of Telangana State. He said that the sacrifices made by students in statehood movement were not duly recognised by the government. He asked the Congress workers to approach the people and expose the failures of government.
Ponnala advised the cadre to undertake intensive membership drive across the State. CLP leader in Legislative Council D Srinivas cautioned the Congress workers against enrolling anti-social elements. He said there should be no bogus members in the party.
Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy, AICC Secretary (Incharge YC Suraj) MN Hegde, IYC General Secretaries Shahubddin and Azmathullah Hussain, TPCC Working President Uttam Kumar Reddy, TSYC President and MLA Vamshi Chandrareddy and other leaders were also present. The Youth Congress membership drive will continue till October 31.
