TANA to contribute $500k to Hudhud Relief Detroit, Michican, USA: Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has increased its commitment for the cyclone Hudhud relief operations from 100,000 dollars to 500,000 dollars. Cyclone Hudhud on October 12th devastated Visakhapatnam city and surrounding areas including Vizianagaram and Srikakulam Districts.
Several NRI associations and organisations are actively involved in the support and relief operations since then.
TANA immediately announced 100,000 dollars or approximately Rupees 60 lakhs to Hudhud relief. Subsequently TANA organized fund raisers in various cities in the US to help and support the cyclone victims. With all the support coming from, TANA on 25th October, at the 20th TANA Convention Kick-off meeting, announced that it is increasing its donation from 100k to 500k, which is Rs. 3 Crore.
Speaking at the convention kick-off meeting on Saturday night in Detroit, TANA President Mohan Nannapaneni made this announcement. He also said that the AP State Government is going to give a matching grant of Rs. 3 crore for the cyclone relief.
