Rains to continue for another two days HYDERABAD: Constant rain and cloudy weather will persist across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the next 48 hours, according to the meteorological department.
Temperatures in the state dropped drastically as rain lashed Hyderabad and the rest of Telangana on Monday. Temperatures in the city recorded a maximum of 21 degrees celsius, registering a dip by 10 degrees from normal levels. Met officials claim another cyclonic storm, Nilofar, has had an influence on the rainfall in the state.
'Northeast monsoon is active and there is some influence of cyclone Nilofar, formed in the Arabian sea. This combined effect has resulted in rainfall in eastern districts of Telangana, whole of Rayalaseema and South Coastal AP,' said YK Reddy, director-in-charge, Met Department, Hyderabad.
Pointing out that rainfall can be expected over the next 48 hours, Reddy said there are chances that it could persist much longer.
