VHR convenes MPs, ex-MPs meet on Nov 9 Hyderabad, Nov 3 (INN): Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao has informed that he was convening a meeting with party MPs and former MPs to discuss the future of Congress party in Telangana.
The meeting will be held at Madina Education Centre on November 9, VHR informed adding that the MPs and former MPs would discuss the steps to be taken to strengthen the party in Telangana State.
He alleged that the present leadership has failed to stop exodus and the party was not being run as it should have been. He also accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of spending crore of rupees to encourage defections in Congress party. He said KCR became the Chief Minister due to the sacrifices made by the Congress party by granting statehood to Telangana.
VHR said that KCR had promised to wash Sonia Gandhi's feet if she gives Telangana State. However, KCR is now making all efforts to break her political party. He said that proposed meeting would prepare a strategy to strengthen the Congress party at the grassroots levels.
