TDP to review ties with BJP: Minister Ravela GUNTUR: In a sensational statement, social welfare minister Ravela Kishore Babu said the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) would review continuation of its alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
'We shall think about to what extent we have to go along with BJP. We have joined hands with the BJP to protect the interests of AP state. We shall not compromise with our party's ideology,' said Ravela Kishore Babu at a press conference at Prathipadu in Guntur.
His remarks came as an answer to BJP AP general secretary Jammula Shyam Kishore's statements on the government's unilateral decision to acquire land from farmers in Tulluru mandal without his party's consent.
Speaking to reporters earlier in the day, Shyam Kishore found fault with AP government's style of acquiring land by force rather than by convincing the farmers.
He said the BJP was in favour of constructing the capital at this place but the state government should take the lands from farmers by convincing them. 'Instead of making conflicting statements, the ministers should visit these villages and allay their fears,' he added.
