CPI accuses Etala of neglecting Nalgonda Hyderabad, Nov 5 (INN): CPI MLA Ravinder Naik has accused Telangana Finance Minister Etala Rajender of neglecting Nalgonda district in his maiden budget which was presented in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
Speaking to media persons here, Ravinder Naik said that no special measures were announced to supply safe drinking water in flouride-affected Nalgonda district. He said that the irrigation projects of the district too were ignored in the budget. He reminded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has assured to give priority to Nalgonda in drinking water schemes. However, this was not reflected in the budget speech.
Ravinder Naik said that although State Government has announced that Water Grid would be constructed at a cost of Rs 25,000 crore, only Rs 2,000 crore have been allocated in this year's budget.
He said government needs to clarify as to when the project would be completed and how funds would be arranged for the same. He said over Rs 1 lakh crore budget is just on paper and it has been aimed to play with people's psychology.
