Palle attends meeting on Smart Cities at Westminster Hyderabad, Nov 6 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Minister Dr Palle Raghunatha Reddy on Thursday attended the Meeting on Smart Cities organised by the U.K. Government in the City of Westminster as part of his week-long official visit sponsored by U.K. Government under the Outreach programme.
During the meeting on Smart Cities, the Minister had explained the vision of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and the Government of Andhra Pradesh. He said that the government was committed to develop Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati into Mega Cities, Vizag and Tirupati as Mega I.T. hubs and 14 Smart Cities all over the State and plans are afoot to provide internet facility to every household in the State with the help of Government of India.
The Minister also reiterated the stand of the AP Government that all required clearances/permissions for setting up of I.T. companies in AP will be accorded within four weeks through a single window system.
He also explained that their government had recently launched a new I.T and Electronic Policy, which is termed as the best I.T.E. policy by the I.T. Companies. He said that I.T. investors would be welcomed with red carpet in to the State and requested them to come forward for large scale investments in I.T sector in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
Later, Dr Palle had also participated in Round Table discussion with the Members from the Indo-British All Party Parliamentary Group, had a meeting with the London First and took part in the Session on 'Devolution and Recent political Developments ' The Role of the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee and Discussion on the Scottish Independence Debate' at Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Room in British Parliament Building ' the Portcullis House ' in Westminster.
Yeluri Sambasiva Rao, MLA of Parchur in Prakasam district from A.P. and other South Indian MLAs had also participated along with the Minister.
