Buckingham canal set for renovation ONGOLE: Visakhapatnam MP and BJP AP president K Haribabu has announced that the Buckingham Canal will be modernised with an outlay of `1,600 crore.
Speaking at the 'Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru' programme at his native village Timmasamudram in Nagulappadu mandal of Prakasam district, Haribabu said that Buckingham Canal would be modernised on the stretch extending from Kakinada to Pondicherry as an inland waterway.
He also pointed out that the Motupalli and Vodarevu ports would be developed as twin ports. Following that, Haribabu also participated in the 'Swachh Bharat' programme at his native village and Chirala.
