KCR says not to vote for TRS if promises are not kept HYDERABAD: Taking a break from making promises, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday asked electors not to vote for the TRS in the next general elections if the promises made by the party are not fulfilled by then.
'I assure you that every promise made by me would be implemented. If our government fails to keep its word on any issue by the end of its term, I request you not to vote for our party in the next polls,' he asserted. He went a step further and announced that if his party failed to fulfil its promises, the party would not even contest the next elections.
As part of his efforts to fulfil his poll promise of increasing the pension amount of deprived people, KCR launched a new pension scheme 'Aasara' for old people, widows and disabled at Kothur in Mahbubnagar district on Saturday. Under the scheme, old people will get a monthly pension of Rs 1,000 and disabled Rs 1,500.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR emphatically stated that no eligible person would be denied the social security pension, while pledging to weed out all ineligible beneficiaries. 'If anybody's name is missing from the list, contact the officer concerned to get your name enumerated for the pension benefit,' he told the public.
The Chief Minister explained that it was on his insistence that the monthly pension amount promised in TRS election manifesto was raised to Rs 1000 from Rs 200.
