TS govt distorting facts on power-sharing: Parakala HYDERABAD: Accusing the Telangana government of misleading people on the issue of power generation and sharing, Andhra Pradesh government Advisor (Communications) Parakala Prabhakar accused the TS government of deliberately distorting facts on power sharing between AP and TS and creating rift between the two states.
Speaking to reporters, Parakala said: ''I don't understand why they are doing so. They know the facts and we have also given details about power generation to them. Still every day they are coming out with new arguments and lies.'
Taking exception to TS government demanding share of power generated through wind power plants located in AP, Parakala said firstly, TS government should understand that as per rule, power generated through non-conventional sources are utilised at the place where it is generated and not distributed to other places.
Secondly, in the AP Reorganisation Act there is no mention of division of power generated through non-conventional sources, he explained.
Moreover, the wind power generated at Anantapur and Kurnool have been shifted from Central Power Distribution Company Limited(CPDCL) to Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (SPDCL) on May 29 and a GO 26 was issued by the government in this regard, he pointed out.
'When the entire power generated through wind power, Power Purchase Agreement, assets and liability has been transferred to SPDCL where is the question of sharing power,' he said.
In the last four months AP government had spent `468 crore on wind power plant generators and the TS government without investing a single rupee wants its share in power generation.
'If we see the power generated through hydel by both the states, TS has generated 118 million units of power through Jurala project, 1307 MU through Srisailam Left power station and 897 Mu through Nagarjunsagar project totaling 2322 MU,'' he said. Similarly, AP government has generated 996 MU through Srisailam Right Power Station and 634 MU through Sileru, totaling 2036 MU.
As per 54:46 ratio, TS should get 2007 MU of power but it has taken 2298 MU, whereas AP which should get 1803 MU as its share got only 1612 MU, he pointed out.
'Though TS has got additional 192 MU still it was making a hue and cry,'' he alleged. He said through inter-state Jurala upper project AP should get 54 MU but till now TS has not scheduled its share but it has taken away 60 MU from the Tungabhadra and Machkund projects.
