Parkal TDP MLA Dharma Reddy joins pink party HYDERABAD: Even as opposition parties are lashing out at ruling TRS for encouraging defections and want the Speaker to intervene and put a stop to such unethical practices, yet another MLA has jumped the fence and joined the pink party.
Giving a serious blow to TDP in Warangal district, party MLA from Parkal Assembly Constituency Challa Dharma Reddy joined TRS in the presence of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at a meeting held in Telangana Bhavan on Sunday. He joined along with his followers and several MPTCs and sarpanches from his constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR emphasised the need for single-minded political approach for achieving 'Bangaru Telangana'. 'We have achieved Telangana state after much struggle and now it is time for us to work apolitically for the reconstruction of Telangana. The onus of achieving Bangaru Telangana is on the shoulders of everyone. I welcome Dharma Reddy and his followers into TRS to become partners in achieving that goal,' he said.
In the past couple of weeks, Dharma Reddy is the third MLA from TDP to join the TRS ranks, depleting the yellow party's strength in the Assembly.
Dharma Reddy said he joined the pink party for the development of his constituency and do his bit for releasing the dream of Bangaru Telangana.
He accused TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu of being largely confined to Andhra Pradesh. Development of his constituency and Telangana state as a whole take precedence over political afflictions, he maintained.
