TRS, Opposition to clash over power crisis HYDERABAD: Yet another face off between treasury benches and opposition is on the cards when the Assembly convenes for the third day on Monday.
Opposition parties, mainly TDP and Congress, are readying to corner the government on power crisis and farmers' suicides, on the floor of the Assembly. Apart from regular morning business, the House is likely to be convened in the evening too to discuss the power problem.
While the opposition wants to highlight farmers' suicides due to withering crops because of inadequate power supply, the ruling TRS wants to expose the opposition by putting the blame for the power crisis on Congress and TDP, which have ruled the undivided state of AP till now.
On the second day of the Assembly, during the Question Hour too, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, replying to a question by E Ravinder Reddy on the power issue, tried to make a point that the previous governments are responsible for the crisis. He also tried to say the TDP, which is ruling AP, is creating hindrances to Telangana in generating power.
Congress leader K Jana Reddy would restart discussion on the budget after the Question Hour if the House runs smoothly, and he is also likely to fire salvos at the government for its failure to stop suicides and create confidence among farmers. TDP and other opposition parties would also like to raise the issue of suspension and evacuation of MLAs from the House on the second day.
