TRS demands apology from Revanth Reddy HYDERABAD: The proceedings in the state Assembly on Wednesday were marred by verbal exchanges between the ruling TRS and opposition TDP.
The TRS members rushed into the well of the House demanding an apology from the TDP member A Reventh Reddy for alleging in the House on Tuesday that Nizamabad MP K Kavitha had enrolled her details at two places during the Comprehensive Household Survey.
As Revanth Reddy rose to speak on the budget, G Sunitha (TRS) raised a point of order seeking apology from Revanth Reddy for 'misleading' the House stating that Nizamabad MP enrolled her name twice in the household survey.
Sunitha sought an apology from Revanth Reddy before the latter spoke on the Budget.Finance minister Eetala Rajender clarified the House that Kavitha did not enrol her name in Hyderabad and they had reports from the local RDO and other officials.
Revanth Reddy wanted the Speaker to move a privilege motion against IT minister KT Rama Rao for his remarks against TDP MLAs in the House on Tuesday. Rama Rao on Tuesday alleged that TDP members were behaving as if they were 'nominated members' of the AP government.
TDP members gave a privilege motion notice to Speaker in the morning and the same was raised by Revanth Reddy in the House. He wanted the Speaker to cancel the membership of Rama Rao as an MLA for insulting TDP MLAs.
But the TRS members did not allow him seeking apology from him on his remarks against Kavitha. TDP's E Dayakar Rao alleged that TRS members were obstructing them bringing Kavitha's incident in the House only to stop them to move a privilege motion against Rama Rao.
At this juncture, TRS members rushed to the well and amidst pandemonium, the Speaker adjourned the House twice. Finally, the Speaker elicited the opinions of floor leaders on Kavitha's issue.
Revanth Reddy wanted the Speaker to give him a chance to move the privilege motion but was shouted down by TRS members and the House witnessed acrimonious scenes. Then, the Speaker adjourned the House for the day without completing the debate on the budget.
