TS Govt to take all-party delegation to PM on Polavaram Hyderabad, Nov 13 (INN): Finance Minister Etala Rajender on Thursday stated the Telangana Government proposes to take an all-party delegation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Polavaram issue.
Intervening during a discussion during Question Hour in the State Legislative Assembly, the minister said that despite their merger with Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana Government was taking care of seven mandals of Khammam district.
He said that the government was supplying power, providing ration and even paying salaries to the staff posted in those seven mandals. He said an all-party delegation would be taken to the Prime Minister to request him to return seven mandals to Telangana State.
Earlier, replying to a question raised by MLAs T Venkateshwarlu and P Venkateshwarlu during Question Hour, Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali said there was no proposal to rehabilitate people belonging to merged seven mandals of Khammam district in Telangana State.
He said despite strong protest by the Telangana Government, the BJP Government passed the Polavaram Bill while the ordinance was issued by previous Congress-led UPA Government.
