25 MLAs ask questions in Zero Hour Hyderabad, Nov 15 (INN): As many as 25 MLAs got the opportunity to raise issues related to their constituencies during the Zero Hour in Telangana State Legislative Assembly on Saturday.
MIM MLA Mumtaz Khan complained that the HMWSSB MD was not accessible to receive complaints either from the general public or elected representatives.
He said several issues are pending due to the non-approval by the Water Board MD. Responding to this, Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao admitted that the HMWSSB MD has been too busy as he has been assigned the responsibility of four-five departments due to non-allotment of cadre to Telangana State. He said he would ask the MD to speaking to the city MLAs.
BJP MLA NVSS Prabhakar raised the issue of acquisition of agricultural land in Uppal and surrounding areas by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority. He said neither compensation was paid to the farmers, nor the acquired lands were developed.
Congress MLA Vamshi Chandra Reddy highlight the problems of drinking water in Kalwakurthy. He said a drinking water project of Rs 100 crore was sanctioned for three mandals in Kalwakurthy. But the tenders for the projects were not called. He also said that the Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation project was also pending.
MIM MLA Maozam Khan complained of non-release of gas cylinders to the applicants under Deepam scheme. He said that the supply of kerosene was stopped for the applicants after they were issued proceeding letters. Therefore, he demanded immediate release of gas cylinders to the applicants.
CPI MLA Ravinder Kumar demanded filling up of vacancies in the SC, ST, BC and Minorities Finance Corproation, Khadi Board and other institutions. He complained that the existing employees of these institutions were not being paid salaries on time and the pensions of reitred employees are not being processed. He advised the government to maintain friendly relationship with the employees.
