TS Govt assures help to maintain temples Hyderabad, Nov 15 (INN): Telangana Finance Minister Etala Rajender on Saturday assured the State Legislative Assembly that all steps would be taken to maintain temples in the State.
Replying to a question raised by MLA Machireddy Krishan Reddy and others during Question Hour, the minister admitted that the Archakas have been facing hardship to perform pooja and maintain the temples.
He said some temples have been identified which are not in a position to provide Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam. An amount of Rs 2,500 per month which includes Rs 1,500 for Archaka salary and RS 1,000 for Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam is being provided under Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam Scheme under Common Good Fund.
The minister also informed that under Archaka and other employees welfare fund trust, certain welfare schemes have been extended to Archakas like medical reimbursement, marriage loan, housing loan, death ex-gratia, education, etc., and the temples are being maintained duly providing aid under Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam scheme. Further, wherever temples require renovation, funds are provided for reconstruction/renovation of temples from Common Good fund.
MLAs Talasani Srinivas Yadav, C Dharma Reddy, Padmavathi, Balakrishna, NVSS Prabhakar and D Ramesh urged the government to take steps to resolve the problems being faced in maintenance of temples.
