Ryots disrupt land pooling meet in Rayapudi Vijayawada, November 15: Tension prevailed for a while in Rayapudi village on Saturday when farmers expressed ire at a meeting by cabinet sub-committee on land pooling for new capital held to elicit public opinion.
A member of the cabinet sub-committee, Tadikonda MLA Sravan Kumar, in the meeting held in Rayapudi village, exhorts the benefits to be accrued by farmers by parting their land for building new capital city. When some farmers rose to speak to get further clarification on land pooling package offered by the government, the legislator instead of allowing them to speak had curtly asked them to sit.
The legislator's rudeness angered the farmers and they started shouting at their top of voices causing a pandemonium in the meet. While farmers openly declared that they are not going to part their land some of the followers of MLA, present at the meeting, fiercely rushed towards agitating farmers leading to scuffle and tension. Police present at the meeting had to intervene to bring the situation under control.
